artist statement

Here lies a juxtaposition of soft and sharp visual elements. I'm interested in how the mind responds to it. By protecting vulnerable female forms with sharp objects of phobia, I am experimenting how these pieces are visually consumed. Forms of desire call to be touched, while the factor of danger guards and warns. How does this affect the gaze and perception?

During the period of conception for this project in my life, I was having a bit of an insomnia spell. The models were styled in positions which I found I could fall asleep and overcome the insomnia, one night at time.

The pieces developed within major shifts in my life. My young and curious mind was developing. The result is unknown during the process. Elements come together. Images develop. A new idea incubates.
