artist statement:
Still vegetation and plants collected through the years in many forms and variations. They originate from diverse geographical locations as varied as their compositions. Left to dry and repose. What originally inspired their collection has been lost, along with their former life and purpose. They sit waiting to be recollected. They honestly lie anticipating re-purpose.
Models are parts and remnants of projects never realized to purpose. Some were actual deconstructed model pieces, while others were but mere drawings. Perhaps, only intangible concepts dwelling in the mind, formless, other than a definite plane. Eventually, fading from memory. Remains of the subconscious. Destiny patiently awaits re-purpose.
Rediscovery of the plants and the models, physically and conceptually, resurrection and reconstruction initiate. The loss of scale, the orientation, and the displacement of their former life, brings about an unexpected environment as they meld and acclimate. Waiting is lost. Purpose is found.
