artist statement:
Within the world, there are so many stereotypes and forms of discrimination floating around and being passed from generation to generation. There are a few obvious differences in the male and female body. Other than those, just how different are we from one another? If monochromatic sections of the human body were photographed out of context of the whole, then how many people would be given enough information to conclude which sex it belongs to or make a hasty generalization?
Can we detect progression in gender identification or is it a regressive direction? What is the status quo of equality among the sexes? Are inequalities among the sexes due to traditional ignorance or are people really so different based on their gender, that the differences should be categorized, stereotyped, and used as basis to establish the fate of their social economic statuses. Is one sex actually better than the other chemically or are physical façades scapegoated and used as an easy copout to mask our own agendas or short comings?
